Pikeville Wastewater Department
Future Wastewater Treatment Plant
The new Pikeville Wastewater Treatment Plant will not only improve the efficiency of the City’s sewage treatment process, but will also be environmentally friendly by reducing the amount of sludge released. This will have a positive impact on the local ecosystem and surrounding communities. Additionally, the construction of the new facility will create job opportunities for residents in the area.
The City of Pikeville is committed to providing clean and safe water resources for its residents, and the funding received from the American Rescue Plan, administered by the Tennessee Department of Environment and Conservation, along with a SRF (State Revolving Fund) low interest loan, will help make this project a reality. The new plant will cost approximately $20 million to complete. By purchasing property upstream from the current plant, the City was able to save money on construction costs and avoid potential issues with expanding the current plant. By investing in infrastructure improvements, the City is investing in the health and well-being of its community for years to come.
This project symbolizes the city’s commitment to investing in infrastructure improvements to ensure the health and well-being of its residents and the surrounding environment. The new plant will help improve water quality and enhance the overall efficiency of wastewater treatment in Pikeville.
The City of Pikeville is on track to complete this crucial 2-year infrastructure project by September 2026, that will benefit both residents and the environment for years to come.
