Municipal Court is held at the City Hall Building, located at 25 Municipal Drive, Pikeville TN.
Enter through the side entrance of the building, closest to the Football Field. The presiding Judge is Edward L. Boring.
Judge Edward L. Boring, City Judge
With more than thirty-two (32) years in the law practice, Mr. Boring has served as the City of Pikeville Attorney and Municipal Judge since 1996. Boring owns and operates the Law Office of Edward L. Boring on Main Street in the beautiful downtown of Pikeville, Tennessee. In his spare time, Mr. Boring enjoys riding horses, hunting, all outdoor activities and spending time with his family.
Edward L. Boring received a Bachelor of Science degree from Tennessee Technological University in 1988. He attended Thomas M. Cooley Law School and received his Juris Doctorate in 1991.
The board members work tirelessly to address the various issues faced by the city, such as public infrastructure development, budgetary allocations, zoning regulations, and public services. They strive to create policies and ordinances that will enhance the quality of life for the residents of Pikeville while fostering economic growth and development.
Through their role as lawmakers, the Aldermen ensure that all decisions made align with the best interests of the community. They collaborate with the city administrators, taking into consideration the input and feedback of the residents they represent. This collaborative approach ensures that the policies and legislative actions decided upon are well-rounded and comprehensive, encompassing the diverse needs of Pikeville.
The Board of Aldermen also acts as a conduit between the residents and the city government. They listen to the concerns and suggestions of the community, giving them a voice in the decision-making process. By actively engaging with the public, they maintain transparency and accountability, ensuring that the city government remains responsive to the needs and desires of its residents.

City Court
The Pikeville Municipal Court “sometimes referred to as City Court” has jurisdiction over minor traffic violations and violations of municipal ordinances. Most often, these courts hear speeding tickets, and other traffic violations. The court’s judge has the power to assess fines up to $50 and jail sentences up to 30 days.
The Pikeville Municipal Court provides a fair and impartial hearing for all citizens charged with a city ordinance violation, code violation, or traffic violation within the boundaries of the City of Pikeville.
Pikeville Municipal Court primarily handles the following issues:
